BMI was honored to raise a toast to songwriter Nevin Sastry for his stunning success for co-writing “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” the smash hit performed by Shaboozey. Sponsored by Taylor Guitars, this invite-only special event was hosted by BMI at Craig’s in West Hollywood.

Released in April of 2024 off Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” was the fourth single from Shaboozey’s third studio album, but it’s the track that made all the difference. The hit song has garnered over 2.3 billion global streams and been certified 5X Platinum by the RIAA. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, Country Airplay and the Hot Country Songs charts. It spent a record-tying 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This makes it the longest-running No.1 song for a solo artist, tying with “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X.

Congratulations again, Nevin, on this incredible success!
